Why did we choose Amritsar?
Amritsar is a very distinct border city. It has historically not only experienced the worst of the partition-era, communal and colonial violence, but has endured as one of India’s greatest testaments to unity and tolerance.
What does this journey offer?
While Wagah Border makes the idea of nationalism palpable, it also showcases how two nations are separated and at the same time how they cooperate non-violently every day. Jallianwala Bagh is a reminder of the fateful massacre of 1919 and how the event became a rallying point for Indian unity during the freedom struggle. Last but not the least, the Golden Temple stands for unity and acceptance.
